Say a Little Prayer for the World

💔🕊️ Say a Little Prayer for the World

A Poem for the Fallen, the Forgotten, and the Fighters
By Tina Winterlik aka Zipolita

Inspired by the speed-built prison in the Everglades they call “Alligator Alcatraz”… and the Big Ugly Bill that tries to cage hope.

This is a prayer, a protest, and a vision.

For love. For justice. For change.

Let's turn this pain into a prayer-poem—one full of hope, power, and vision.

Inspired by Aretha’s rhythm and soul, here’s a modern prayer for justice, transformation, and the fall of that Big UGLY Bill:

💔🙏 “Say a Little Prayer for the World” (Inspired by Aretha Franklin)

(Whispered)
From the dust of the Everglades,
Where sorrow sleeps in barbed wire shade,
I say a little prayer for you…

(Softly)
Let the bill break,
Let the hate quake,
Let the paper burn itself to ash and snake,
Let it fall, fold, fade away,
Make room for love to rise today.

(Stronger)
No more cages dressed in tents,
No more borders built with violence.
No more walls in God’s green land,
Turn those cells into open hands.

(Rising)
I saw a vision, clear and wide—
Tiny rooms with beds inside,
Clean water, food, and light so kind,
Each person held, not left behind.

(With power)
They came not to be punished,
But to be healed.
To be seen, to be heard,
To be whole and real.

(Louder)
The guards became guides,
The fences grew flowers,
The cruel clock stopped counting hours.

(Shouting softly)
No more profits on the pain of the poor,
No more prisons by the score.
Build gardens, clinics, tiny homes—
Tear down those razor-rimmed domes!

(And again… slower)
From the halls of power to the dirt and sky,
Say a little prayer,
For those who cry.
Say a little prayer,
That this bill dies.

(Final line—whispered like a secret passed between hearts):
I say a little prayer for you… and me… and all of us too.
