Silver to Pixels: The Journey of a Portfolio"

This poem was was created by Tina Winterlik with the help of AI

In days gone by, we’d proudly show,

Our works of art in a silver glow.

Photographs in hand, so real, so true,

Developed in darkrooms, a labor few knew.

With chemicals and light, we’d create,

Tangible memories, intricate and great.

No inkjets then, no giclée fine,

Just pure craftsmanship, on the line.

In big black cases, we’d carry with pride,

Our heart and soul, tucked safely inside.

Each print a testament, each page a tale,

To show our journey, without fail.

But times have changed, as they always do,

From darkroom trays to pixels new.

Now screens display what once we held,

A digital realm where stories meld.

No longer we carry that heavy load,

Our portfolios live on a digital road.

PDFs, websites, and social shares,

Our work now reaches everywhere.

Yet something special lingers still,

In those silver prints, in the darkroom thrill.

A tactile touch, a moment’s grace,

Captured in a physical space.

Embrace the new, but cherish the past,

For both together, our legacy lasts.

In every medium, let our art be seen,

From silver prints to digital screens.
