Price of a Ride
I saw the most upsetting thing, appeared to be young woman tasered at Transit by the cops, and I have see footage of this before and it triggered me
AI trying to help me channel my emotions
Oh what a beautiful world we’ve made,
Where the price of a bus ride will surely invade,
Your pockets, your peace, your every last dime,
But don't worry—you're the one committing the crime!
Tasers crackle, cops gleam with pride,
Forgetting the truth, that there's no place to hide.
A fine for your fare? It’s just a small thing,
Like a mountain of debt that continues to sting.
Mental health? Ha! Let’s make it a joke,
Just some symptoms you choose when you're broke.
Big pharma’s got pills for every poor soul,
But don’t dare try to make your life whole.
They’ll take your dignity, then give you a fine,
While the rich sip their coffee, feeling divine.
It's the perfect system, it works so well,
Except for the ones who can't pay, oh, but swell!
Keep tasering the ones who can barely survive,
It’s not like they're trying to stay alive.
Just a reminder for you, loud and clear,
That the poor should stay down, keep living in fear.

This poem plays with the absurdity and frustration surrounding the unfairness of the situation. It highlights the disparity between those who have the means to navigatethe system and those who don't.
