We Don’t Need Another Tower π΅
Inspired by Tina Turner's "We Don’t Need Another Hero!"
π΅ π΅ We Don’t Need Another Tower π΅
(a cheeky Vancouver satire song inspired by skyline drama)
Verse 1
Back in the day we could still see the mountains clear,
Rain on the seawall, and the ocean felt so near π§️π
Now every season there’s another glass giant rise,
Blocking the sunset and the old familiar skies ππ
Pre-Chorus
Another hearing, another plan,
Another promise from the money clan πΌ
“Luxury living, world-class views!”
While regular folks just read the news π°π€·♀️
Chorus
We don’t need another tower! π€π️
We don’t need another shadow over Main and Granville hour!
All we want is homes that people can afford,
Not another steel and mirrored board!
We don’t need another tower…
No, we don’t need another tower π
Verse 2
The cranes keep dancing in the cloudy sky,
Condos so high they wave to planes that fly ✈️
“Urban vision,” they proudly say,
But where do artists, seniors, workers stay? π¨π΅π·
Bridge
Oh Vancouver, city of glass and rain,
How many towers can you stack again? π€
The mountains whisper through the misty air,
“Leave a little sunlight somewhere…” π²☁️
Final Chorus
We don’t need another tower! πΆ
Give us parks and trees and maybe rent with less power πΈ
Let the skyline breathe a little too,
So the city still feels a bit like you π
